Keyword Density Counter
Nothing to count yet
Paste a description above — yours, a draft you have not shipped, or a competitor's copied from their product page. The count runs entirely in your browser, and the text stays in this browser so it survives a reload.

About this tool
How often does each word appear in your description?
Paste an App Store description and this counts every term in it, ranked by frequency, with a total word count. It is the fastest way to see what your listing copy is actually about rather than what you meant it to be about.
Descriptions drift. A feature gets added, a paragraph gets pasted in from a press release, and the word you most want to be known for ends up appearing once while a filler word appears eleven times.
How it works
- 1Paste any description — yours, or a competitor’s copied from their product page.
- 2Text is split into terms, normalised for case, and counted. Stop words are separated out so they do not crowd the list.
- 3Results show each term, how many times it occurs, and its share of the total.
- 4Nothing is uploaded. The count runs entirely in your browser.
What it cannot tell you
- Apple does NOT index the description for search. It indexes the app name, subtitle and the 100-character keyword field. Repeating a term in the description does not put you in results for it.
- There is no correct density. Anyone quoting a target percentage for App Store copy is repeating a web-SEO idea that does not transfer.
- It counts words, not meaning. Two phrasings of the same idea count separately.
Questions
Does keyword density affect App Store ranking?
No. Apple indexes the app name, subtitle and keyword field. The description is read by people, not by the search index, which is why this tool is framed as a readability check rather than a ranking lever.
What should I use it for then?
Checking that your description actually leads with what the app does, spotting filler that repeats, and comparing your copy against a competitor’s to see what they emphasise.
Is my description sent anywhere?
No. The whole count runs in your browser and your text is never sent anywhere — it is saved only to this browser so it survives a reload. Loading an app via the deep link makes one request to Apple to fetch that app’s public description.
